Standards & Corrections

This is a first-person record kept to a documentary standard. These are the rules it follows. Hold me to them.

How entries are written

  1. Every entry is dated. Case, docket and report numbers are given wherever one exists.
  2. Quotes are verbatim. When I quote a letter, an email or a report, the words are the agency’s, not mine. The document is linked where it is posted and listed on the Evidence page where it is held.
  3. What I know and what I believe are kept apart. A fact I witnessed or hold a document for is stated as fact. A conclusion is stated once, as mine, with the basis next to it. I do not speculate about motive. The timing of events is recorded; what it means is for the reader.
  4. Nothing is softened to seem fair, and nothing is sharpened to seem damning. If a fact helps the agencies, it goes in. If a fact helps me, it goes in with the same weight.
  5. Dated accounts in The Record are mine. They describe what happened to me and how it felt. They are labeled as accounts. The Timeline and Agency Record are the documented spine; the accounts hang on it.
  6. What is redacted

    • My children’s names and anything that identifies them.
    • Home addresses, phone numbers, account numbers and device identifiers, mine and anyone else’s.
    • Medical detail beyond what is needed to show what an agency was told and what it did.
    • The names of private individuals who are not public officials and did not act in an official capacity, unless they have agreed to be named.

Public officials and agencies are named in their official capacity. Officers are identified by name and badge number where the agency has identified them in its own records.

    Contact and response

I do not contact the subject of this record, or his family or associates, for comment. Anyone named or described on this site may respond in writing to the address on the About page. A response from a person or agency named here will be published in full, unedited, next to the entry it concerns, with the date it was received.

    Corrections

If something here is wrong, tell me and show me. A factual error is corrected in place, and the correction is logged below with the date. The original wording is kept in the log so the change is visible. Disagreement with a conclusion is not an error; it is a response, and it is published as one.

    Corrections log

October 20, 2026. Site opened. No corrections yet.

    What this site is not

It is not a court filing and it is not journalism. It is one person’s documented account of what happened when she reported crimes and asked for protection, and what each agency did with that. Court records, police reports and agency letters speak for themselves and are reproduced so they can.
